From October 8th to 10th, 2025, the 16th Vietnam Conference on Nuclear Science and Technology (VINANST-16) was successfully held in Da Nang City. As the largest and most prestigious scientific forum in Vietnam's nuclear energy sector, this biennial event brought together a large number of leading experts and scientists.
Representing the NEE Lab, members attended and presented their latest scientific research findings. The conference was also an honorable occasion for the group to attend and engage in academic exchanges with distinguished international experts and partners, including Prof. Peng Hong Liem (The University of Tokyo), Prof. Imre Pázsit (Swedish National Laboratory), and notably, Dr. Nguyen Huu Tiep (Sejong University, South Korea), a key and valued collaborator of NEE Lab. The presence and direct interaction with these leading scientists provided profound professional value.
Notably, Prof. Imre Pázsit is a world-renowned reactor physicist, recipient of several prestigious international honors, including the Order of the Rising Sun, Gold Rays with Neck Ribbon from the Government of Japan, the Leo Szilárd Medal from the Hungarian Nuclear Society, and the title of Doctor Honoris Causa from the Budapest University of Technology and Economics. He is also a Fellow of the American Nuclear Society and a member of the Royal Swedish Academy of Engineering Sciences, highlighting his outstanding contributions to nuclear science and reactor physics.
Prof. Peng Hong Liem, a highly respected scholar in the nuclear engineering community, was invited to deliver the G.A. Siwabessy Memorial Lecture in 2024—an academic honor in recognition of his influential scientific contributions and his role in advancing nuclear research collaboration in the region, particularly between Japan and Southeast Asia.
The successful participation of the NEE Lab at VINANST-16 reaffirms the group's commitment to excellence in research and innovation, contributing to the overall development of Vietnam's nuclear science and technology sector.

Special Issue on Nuclear Engineering and Design
Outcomes and achievements orienting the Future of Nuclear Fission Technology
For how long large size nuclear reactor will survive?
Will water-technology based SMR displace large reactors?
Will non-water-cooling SMR and micro-reactors have an industrial deployment?
Will breeding technology, including thorium exploitation, have due relevance?
Will ‘nuclear infrastructure’ remain or be sufficiently robust?
